I love Mozilla software and really appreciate an alternative to MS.

That allegiance stated, I recently upgraded to version 3 of Thunderbird and the amount of time it takes to open the first time is about 45 seconds! Long! It did not take nearly that long with version 2 whose features were more than adequate for me.

I would love to go back to version 2 if that is possible. If not, any suggestions about how to speed it up v 3 by, perhaps, deactivating certain features? Please forgive my ignorance. Any comments are appreciated.

Any chance that Thunderbird will have the synchronizing feature that was recently introduced to Firefox in the near future? I use Gmail (imap) and have a 100 message filters setup in Thunderbird on Windows. It sure would be nice to use them on my Linux machine.

Deseaba preguntar si hay objeción o infringe las normas empezar a promocionar y difundir "ThunderBird" a través de mensajes correo electrónico a mi lista de contactos, lo cual haría periódicamente cada vez que me dirija colectivamente a estos con distinto motivo de mi comunicación cada vez hacia ellos.

A friend just started using Thunderbird 2.x on his new computer with Win 7. He'd like to import his address book and email databases from Outlook Express on his old computer. I've copied the .wab file and his .dbx files from the old computer to the new one. Thunderbird refuses to use these files because it can't find Outlook Express.

Outlook Express won't install on Win 7. Is there any way to point Thunderbird to OE files?
