Retrieving and Importing PST Files & "Reply" Button Positions

Issue and suggestion:

1. I just purchased a new HP Pavilion (HP6510f) computer with Win 7 64byte on it and cannot import any of my archives from outlook (and there are many). I really don't want to purchase Outlook 2010 for over $250 bucks just to save these archives. I have grown accustomed to Thunderbird and I like it.This is the only problem area I have found so far in Thunderbird.

I tried a work-around by importing the archives into Outlook 2010 and then importing them into Thunderbird, however I get a screen from Thunderbird that tells me there is no program association to my request.

Ideas?

2. I really find the placement of the "Reply, Forward, Archive, Junk, and Delete" buttons awkward. IMO, they need to be moved to the left of the screen. I have to "skip" over from the left to the buttons on the right to use them. I have a 22" flat screen monitor and this is entirely too inconvenient and unnecessary to have that much movement.

Good idea

I agree with you . its good to show your stats consequently

An intellegent question

It is really good idea if it shows the current status continuously in the bottom right corner of the Thunderbird window. We use this software in home to receive our family e-mails. We never realized this even. Please comment something why such option isn't available.

"get mail" Marker / Status

When I check mail, the status at bottom tells me what's happening, then disappears. Why not leave some feedback there with a time marker. That way I can remember when I check or know when T-Bird checked last and .. well, keep the net bandwidth down. I'd also know if my service or network was down.

EG:

04:07 There are no new messages.

or

10:16 Mail Server did not respond.

Feel free to expand on this concept ;-)

Hello everyone! We're using

Hello everyone! We're using Thunderbird at work and we're all quite taken with it, it made our lives easier that's for sure. Anyway, George came up with a very good suggestion and I'd personally like to know if there's someone currently working on that.

Can I access my Yahoo!, Hotmail, Lycos (Europe), MailDotCom, Gmail, and Libero WebMail account through Thunderbird?

Yes, You can!

Pretty much any email if set right. Maybe one or two will give You an extra headache.

Afilliate points Bug

Hello, all

Im a fairly new member and have a spread thunderbird button on my blog at www.bankabankastation.com.

there must be something wrong with my affiliate points counter or button though as it was at 0 then 52 which I thought couldnt be right. It then went back to 0 and now its at 3925points!

any ideas how to fix this problem?

UPDATE I went back to 1 point then 0 and today I am at 3991 its driving me mad

Don't worry

Don't worry, there are some issues with the way points are shown in the top affiliates module, I have seen the same things. I don't know the technical details, but they are working on it. In the mean time you could look at the top users, you don't need very many points to appear there at the moment.

Change a message's priority

Anyone know how to change the priority of an outgoing message in Mozilla Thunderbird ? Thanks,

cool

good content :)

Thunderbird is the best

I have been using thunderbird about 6 years ago, until now I have not found a similar program that can rival thunderbird. So, I think Thunderbird is the best

I've used it for years

And i've only had one or two problems. The problems usually arise when my inbox files get bigger than 2 gigabytes. If i mantain a 'clean' inbox and stuff, it's allright. Otherwise it starts to get a little bit cranky.

Same thing

Thats why I have switched to gmail's web interface recently. Mark, ----------------------- my edu proj: whats my ip address

Thanks Thunderbird

Hi, I've been using Thunderbird since the first time I knew Thunderbird a few years ago. I really enjoy using it and I really love it because it is absolutely free. Thanks for the great work.

Spam reporter

Each country has its own way of dealing with spam-creaters. The problem is, that the national authorities only deal with the spam-dealers within their country. So when a spam message comes from abroad nothing will happen. Why do Google and Thunderbird not join forces in creating a international platform for reporting spam, sending the messages through IP-address determination to the national authorities that will take care of these gentlemen?

Site title

I think the site title should be changed to just Spread Thunderbird or Spread Thunderbird | The Home of Mozilla Thunderbird Community Marketing instead of www.spreadthunderbird.com | Mozilla Thunderbird - Reclaim Your Inbox (too long and lost its meaning)

I agree

That is also what appears on Google (of course).

admin email

when I signed up for an account I got my password etc sent to me from rafael's address. Would seem a bit better to have that stuff coming from an admin address.

A prominent link to where you can download Thunderbird

I know this is for insiders... but still! (I came here from http://drupal.org/planet and was checking to see if a version 3 had snuck out.) An obvious link to http://mozilla.org/thunderbird is definitely recommended!
